Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need pageant experience?

Absolutely not.

Many women join NASW because they want to challenge themselves, build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and become more visible.

Whether this is your first experience or you've participated in pageants before, NASW is designed to meet you where you are and support your growth.

What if I don't feel confident enough?

You are exactly who we created this experience for.

Most women don't begin feeling completely confident.

Confidence is something we build through action, experience, and visibility.

You do not need to feel ready to participate.

You simply need to be willing to take the next step.

Is NASW only for sorority women?

National American Sorority Woman was inspired by the values often associated with sisterhood, leadership, service, and personal growth.

While sorority women remain an important part of our community, American Sorority Woman is evolving into a modern sisterhood movement that welcomes women who connect with our mission of confidence, visibility, leadership, and becoming.

How is NASW different from other pageants?

NASW is designed to be more than a competition.

While participants compete in various categories, our primary focus is helping women develop:

  • Confidence

  • Communication skills

  • Leadership presence

  • Visibility

  • Authentic self-expression

The crown is part of the experience.

The woman you become along the way is what matters most.

What are the competition categories?

Participants compete in:

Personal Introduction

An opportunity to share your story, personality, and leadership journey.

Sisterhood in Style

A celebration of confidence, creativity, and authentic self-expression.

Interview

A live virtual interview focused on communication, leadership, and personal growth.

Detailed instructions and scoring criteria are provided in the participant handbook.

How much time does participation require?

NASW was intentionally designed to fit into busy schedules.

Most participants spend a few hours preparing their submissions and participating in their interview.

Because the competition is virtual, participants can complete much of the experience from home and on their own schedule.

How are interviews conducted?

Interviews are held virtually via Zoom.

Participants meet with a panel of judges in a supportive and conversational environment designed to help them share their experiences, goals, and leadership journey.

No prior interview experience is required.

Titleholders have opportunities to:

  • Participate in leadership initiatives

  • Share their story

  • Serve as ambassadors

  • Mentor future participants

  • Contribute to the American Sorority Woman community

Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for growth during and after the competition.

Can I participate if I live outside the United States?

At this time, National American Sorority Woman™ is primarily focused on serving women who reside within the United States.

Because NASW is a virtual experience, we may explore opportunities for broader participation in the future as American Sorority Woman continues to grow.

If you live outside the United States and are interested in participating, we encourage you to contact us. We'd love to learn more about where you're joining from and keep you informed about future opportunities.

Our long-term vision is to build a modern sisterhood movement that connects women through confidence, visibility, leadership, and growth, regardless of location.

What if I'm nervous about being visible?

You're not alone.

Many women join NASW because they want to become more confident and visible.

You don't need to feel fearless.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

You simply need to be willing to show up, grow, and trust the process.

Why does NASW focus on visibility?

Visibility creates opportunity.

When women learn to trust their voice, share their story, and step into leadership, they create opportunities not only for themselves but for others as well.

NASW exists to help women become more visible in ways that feel authentic, meaningful, and aligned with who they are.

How do I know if NASW is right for me?

NASW may be a great fit if you:

  • Want to build confidence

  • Want to strengthen communication skills

  • Want to develop leadership skills

  • Want to become more visible

  • Want to connect with other growth-minded women

  • Want to challenge yourself in a supportive environment

  • Believe you're capable of more

If you're looking for an experience that combines personal growth, visibility, leadership, and sisterhood, we'd love to welcome you.

What if I say yes?

What if this is the experience that helps you trust yourself more?

What if you discover strengths you didn't realize you had?

What if you stop waiting until you feel ready?

What if you become more visible, more confident, and more willing to step into opportunities that once felt intimidating?

You'll never know unless you take the first step.

Visibility begins with saying yes.
